Education & Management Programs

AASC’s vision of “Envisioning the Classics with Color” welcomes everyone to explore, experience, and engage with the theatre in service to the community, field, region, and nation. AASC is building a bridge to meet wherever our community is gathering with meaningful engagement and educational opportunities for community members, stakeholders, and collaborative program partners.

Our goal is to increase social interactivity, creative participation, performance skills, technical training, professional development, and job-readiness preparation in the field. Each program will be examined for mission-based experiences, relevance, authenticity, accessibility, and inclusion. Programs are designed for both in-person and online education and engagement.

School Partnership Programs

African-American Shakespeare Company’s School Partnership Program brings the arts and creative expression to your students; and in-turn, your participation will provide our organization with invaluable feedback to shaping and building our educational programs.

Youth Programs

Partnering with over 36 schools in the greater Bay Area with a primary focus on middle and high school students, AASC offers free student matinees and residency workshops to targeted schools in the Bay Area. Our focus is underserved schools with diverse student body population, and a proclivity for schools that have a high African-American student body.

Professional Development Programs

Local city and county partnership with African-American Shakespeare Company has created the opportunity to build a professional development training program for both emerging and experienced artists.
