Directed by Rebecca Clark, Victoria Evans-Erville, William Thomas Hodgson, Aejay Antonis Marquis, James Mercer II, and Dawn Monique Williams

Shaxspeare Reimagined is a bold re-envisioning that takes Shakespeare’s timeless poetry and reboots them through the lens of Black culture, creating a high-octane, genre-bending experience that propels us forward while honoring the past. With the creative visions of six innovative Black directors, this show explodes through the boundaries of time and space, merging history with futuristic possibilities. Audiences will be taken on a fantastic 90-minute voyage featuring scenes from some of Shakespeare’s iconic plays, such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Henry VI, and MacBeth mixed with movement and sound. It’s a stunning reawakening of Shakespeare’s exploration of humanity—one that speaks powerfully to our present, inviting audiences from all walks of life to join in a journey that reclaims, redefines, and electrifies envisioning the classics with color.
